*Letter of the week: T *Sight words: is on * Poem: Tiger on the Table *T - handwriting: Children used stamp and see screens to practice the formation of the letter t. They also used handwriting books and dry erase markers on practice sheets. (T) is a capital letter, and (t) is a lowercase tall letter. *T collage filled with pictures of things that start with the letter t. *Practice writing sight words. Children used mini whiteboards, expo markers, and our word wall to practice sight words with friends. *SING A SONG We continued to read our big book as a group. The repetitive text allows the children to echo my reading.
T - is for tigers. Children made tiger pupptes to replicate the characters in our book. They used their tiger puppets to follow along and "act out" the story. The story is about a family of tigers and goes through their day and the things they do together as a family. We discussed and listed the things we like to do with our families. Then children created their own family page illustrating and writing about their family "together" time. We compiled the pages to create our very own Family Together Book.
*Writers' Workshop - introduced the writing workshop part of our day where children are read to (to model good writing) and then do their own journal writing either with a prompt or free writing. This week, they personalized their journals.
*Kid Pix - children designed and labeled a t item. *Lexia Core 5 *iPads *Interactive white board - our poem of the week. Tiger on the Table

We also found milkweed seed pods. children observed them and released seeds to be scattered all around. *Children made observations about the caterpillars, milkweed, and seed pods and recorded their observations in their science journals.
