Children mailed off their Thank You Letters to Grandfriends. Thank you, Mrs. Parker for showing us the stamp machine!
Letter of the week was E.
We worked with word families: eg, ed, en, et, and ell.
Children looked for words, listened for rhyming words and matching word families.
We listed word families as a class and built words using letter tiles and word families.
Children reflected on their first self portrait of the year and illustrated updated self-portraits paying attention to adding detail and representing themselves through the choice of color and details that best represent them.
Children also met with constellations for their last constellation meeting of the year. We thanked our 5th grade leaders as they will graduate from constellations next year.
Children wrote weekend news, read books, wrote ABCs of Kindergarten invitations, and enjoyed the 1st grade Book Worm Celebration!
Free Play: Some of the children have been working together to build a ball track they call Brickstone Place.
Practice with short e word families: children write word families and label a word family on KID PIX
First Graders are our guest readers! After seeing the 1st grade Book Worm Celebration, the students came to read to us.
Thank you, First Grade.
Children used KID PIX to create an illustration of their animal and then label it as a diagram of their animal. We will continue with our animal research this week.
