The Community Heroes Meet and Greet is just around the corner. This past week the students worked on writing reports using the information that was learned during the interview. Each report includes a topic sentence, a body, and a closing sentence. Also this week, students were busily designing and creating their projects. Although each child has teacher guidance, projects are completed independently. As teachers, we are here to help with the process, which could include being a sounding board while brainstorming or organizing ideas, help with creating “to-do” lists, or strategies to manage time. Each child is incharge of crafting their own project, allowing them to feel a sense of ownership and pride with the final product.
The children are very excited to share the reports and various projects with you on March 8th. All of the heroes have been invited back to Friends Academy to attend the Meet and Greet. We know each hero is trying their best to make it, however busy schedules and work commitments might get in the way of a few heroes being able to attend. We have had a discussion with the class about how we will honor each hero whether or not they can make it. Each student is very excited and proud to share what he or she has learned!
A few things to keep in mind in preparation for the day….

We look forward to seeing you on March 8th at the Community Heroes Meet and Greet!
